Optum aims to create a healthier world, one insight, one connection, one person at a time. Their goal is to make health care simpler and more effective for everyone. Optum is an integrated whole-health team that makes health care work for you and your loved ones.

Overview:

Optum was looking for a fresh look to their health service platform. The brand was looking for a way to showcase its many functions as an option for a more personalized, more equitable, and smarter version of health care.

Problem:

Optum’s interface was cluttered with content and was not easily navigable. Additionally, Optum was not efficient for patients and medical practitioners to find relevant information.

Goal:

We wanted to create a website redesign for the brand that would optimize patient information and scheduling and create a cleaner and more easily scannable layout for doctors and other medical facilities. Additionally, we hoped to personalize user dashboards with relevant information for their records.

Color

The color palette centers itself around a vibrant orange and a bright blue color.

All secondary colors compliment the primary blue color through its various shades.

 
 

 

Typography

Optum Sans is an accessible font designed to display information in an easily digestible way without detracted from the importance of the text itself.

 
 

 

Imagery

Images should adhere to warm-toned colors. Imagery should have a modern and clean look to them. Movement should be a central them in the images. The pictures should make transit services look inviting and peaceful.

 

 

UI Elements

All UI elements should maintain a minimal style so users are not distracted from primary content. Corners should be rounded in order to give off a soft appearance. All icons should be simple and precise in order to adhere to the sophistication of the brand and keep with its simplistic themes.

With the new design layout, we wanted to make sure that an immense amount of information could be displayed but formatted in a way that was very digestible, easily navigable, and fun to interact with.


 

Creating simpler & more effective health care

In the new design system, we were looking to enhance user experience by optimizing patient information and scheduling. The updated designs put a fun twist on appointments with a simple registration process and multiple care options to fit various needs.


 

Making health care smarter

With this website redesign, we wanted to display a cleaner and more easily scannable layout for doctors and other medical facilities to be able to effectively treat their patients. Additionally, this establishes a more personal relationship between the doctors and their patients since it allows for a more seamless interaction between data and wellness.


 

Personalizing your care

While creating the design, we focused on displaying information in a way that was easily understandable and transparent across different parties. We designed a personalized user dashboard system that allows patients access to the most important and relevant documents and data to make their care as efficient and simple as possible.

Health Profile

To further the personalization of the user’s experience, we designed a health profile system that compiles a list of all relevant health information from the patient into a space that is easily updated and accessed when needed.

 

Mobile Design

 

Equitable health care for all

In order to make the mobile screens as user-friendly as possible, we designed an easily navigable system that would allow users to quickly access their own data while also being able to easily find relevant content without the confusion that some interfaces come with due to the high volume of information.
